About this experience
From Mountain to Sea and Back to Mountain is the route of our sightseeing tour in Barcelona, during which you will learn the stories of the city's main attractions and see them from unexpected angles.
What to expect
Our trip will start with a breathtaking view of Barcelona from a bird's-eye perspective. Almost everyone who visits the Catalan capital begins their acquaintance with it, facing away from this stone cross in Park Güell. There is no other place where you can see all sides of Barcelona and it can see you.
We specifically chose the famous Park Güell as the starting point of our journey. The alleys of stone palms and the columns of the open-air room, where pleasant coolness reigns even on the hottest days. But the main attraction of the park is the large balcony with mosaic benches, offering an equally stunning view of Barcelona. And to take a photo with one of the city's symbols - the mosaic salamander by Antoni Gaudí, you might have to wait in line.
From one of Gaudí's creations, we will descend to another of his masterpieces - the Sagrada Familia basilica. This temple is still unfinished, but even in such a state, one can feel the power of the genius and his faith.
Another temple - the temple of history - is the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. This is where the city was born, where among the ruins of Roman buildings stand stone houses from the Renaissance era. What secrets, seen over the centuries, shout from the stone mouths of gargoyles, whose houses are connected by a bridge-balcony, who lived, and maybe still lives behind these heavy wooden gates of the historical buildings of the Gothic Quarter? All of this we will be pleased to tell you.
The Old City is perhaps the most museum-rich place in Barcelona. Here you can find a collection of rarities for every taste - from mammoths that lived on the land of present-day Barcelona to paintings by the famous Picasso, from the marijuana museum to the chocolate museum. There can be a great variety of walking routes down to the port.
It's best to end the sightseeing tour on another iconic hill of Barcelona - Montjuïc. This is a fairly extensive hill that managed to accommodate no less attractions: a cactus park, the Greek Theater, a promenade area, the Olympic Stadium where the opening of the 1992 Olympic Games took place, and the city's largest concert hall - Palau Sant Jordi. And don't forget about the Alfonso XIII Palace and the exhibition pavilions of Fira, Barcelona - a venue for many prestigious exhibitions and congresses; the cascade framing the Magic Fountain and the last point of our sightseeing tour - Montjuïc fortress.
