About this experience
We invite you to see the statue of Buddha Maitreya in the rock, created in the 8th century and included in the UNESCO list. Legend has it that it was carved by a monk to appease the raging waters at the confluence of the Minjiang, Daduhe, and Qingyi rivers. During the park walk, you will find out if the monk succeeded in his goal. And you will also admire ancient sculptures, enjoy the local nature, and take a boat ride.
What to expect
- A walk in the picturesque park (from 2 hours). You will climb numerous stairs, appreciate the scale of the Buddha, and see other ancient sculptures carved in the rocks.
- A boat ride from the river pier (about 40 minutes). You will admire the giant Buddha statue in all its glory from the side and enjoy the water landscapes.
