About this experience
No matter how many times I have been to Buddha's gardens, they impress with their beauty and design! I invite you to visit the picturesque park, where large groups of tourists are not taken. You will immerse yourself in the calm and unique atmosphere of the East, touch the Buddhist culture, and simply relax from the bustling Lisbon.
What to expect
An Interesting Journey
Our path lies north of Lisbon, towards Bombarral. We will travel on a highway without iconic landmarks, but you will see vineyards and Portuguese villages with their typical architecture. Along the way, we will talk about this country: I will gladly tell you about the local mentality, traditions, and cuisine; I will give you tips on what you need to know to make your trip perfect.
East in the West
In 2001, two millennia-old statues of Buddhas were destroyed in Afghanistan. Portuguese millionaire, art connoisseur, Jose Berardo was shocked by this news and decided to create a garden with hundreds of Buddha figures in his native country. 7 years later, Buddha Eden Garden was opened as a symbol of peace and a tribute to the destroyed cultural monuments. During the tour, I will tell you more about Senor Berardo's biography and the creation of the park.
You will have about three hours to enjoy a walk in the Paradise Garden: you will admire the statues, including a replica of the Terracotta Army with 700 life-size soldiers and horses; see colorful koi fish in the ponds and areas dedicated to Africa and modern art.
