About this experience
Join us on a comfortable journey through three poleis founded by Ancient Greek settlers! Immerse yourself in their history, philosophy, and religion. You will see ancient theaters, ruins of temples, market squares, baths, and markets. Discover why the once prosperous Ionian port cities declined and were abandoned. You will also visit the local Tuscany - the village of Doğanbey.
What to Expect
Ancient city of Priene. We will stroll through ancient streets and see the ruins of the Agora and the Temple of Athena, the restoration of which was overseen by Alexander the Great. We will also show you the basilica, the ancient theater, the fish and meat markets.
Ancient city of Miletus. You will climb to the highest point of the ancient theater, which could accommodate 15,000 people. Explore the Byzantine fortress and the ruins of the Roman baths of Faustina.
Temple of Apollo at Didyma. In ancient times, an oracle lived and served within its walls, predicting the future to priests. Entry was forbidden to ordinary citizens. And these are far from all the interesting facts about this amazing place!
Ghost village of Doğanbey. We will visit the picturesque village where life is slowly returning. You will learn why people left it, although in beauty it can rival Tuscany in Italy.
