Learn about its connections with Apostle John and the Holy Virgin Mary, and the philosophers who lived on the Aegean coast. I will also introduce you to modern Turkey: its traditions, geography, and daily life.
What to Expect
Immersion into Ancient World
You will stroll along the main boulevard of Ephesus, admire the Hercules Gate, and explore the Temple of Emperor Hadrian. Discover the legendary Celsius Library, the commercial agora, and the Roman theater accommodating 30,000 people. Visit the ancient public latrines, wander through the ruins of public baths, see the Trajan Fountain, and learn about the 'Vestal Virgins'.
Main Temples of Ephesus
Ephesus is a place where different cultures and religions converge. You will visit its main Christian sanctuaries: the House of the Virgin Mary and the Basilica of St. John. Appreciate the masterpieces of Islamic architecture: the Isa Bey Mosque and the Muslim fortress. Moreover, witness the legacy of pagan cult — the ruins of the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
