The secrets of the 'literary hotel' and Agatha Christie
We will walk through the historic Beyoglu district in the European part of Istanbul. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Taksim Square and visit the Pera Palace Hotel, steeped in luxury and the spirit of the 19th century. I will tell you who it was built for and which famous personalities lived there. Also: in which room Agatha Christie stayed and which popular detective novel she began writing here. I will also reveal some spicy facts about the writer's life in Istanbul. You will learn about the love stories that happened to her in Turkey and how she managed to preserve her marriage.
Greek Church, Flower Passage, and Galata Tower
You will explore the Greek Church of the Holy Trinity in the late Byzantine style and step into the elegant shopping arcade Flower Passage on the pedestrian street of Istiklal. Additionally, climb the Galata Tower and admire the magnificent panorama of Istanbul from above. The tour will end at Sirkeci Train Station, from where the legendary Orient Express still departs, the setting of one of Agatha Christie's most famous novels.
