Portraits of Lyon
In 3 hours, you will have time to explore the iconic landmarks on the city map and uncover the most interesting pages of its biography. We will start at Place Bellecour, where the expensive name of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry first sounded for the Lyonnais. You will see the beautiful architectural ensemble of the Dieu Hotel, walk through the golden district, the elegant Terreaux Square, and the rue Mercière - a gastronomic paradise.
I will take you to the medieval city with the Gothic cathedral of St. John. Here we will definitely wander through the traboules - unique city corridors. The funicular will take us to Fourvière Hill: you will visit the basilica of the same name, the Gallo-Roman theater, and an impressive panorama of the city.
Lyon is the real deal
It seems that over the years of living in Lyon and working with archives, I have learned everything about it, so in my stories, I will focus on your interests: we can always delve into one topic or another. For example, you will trace the city's path, but you won't hear boring lectures. We will enjoy a walk along the riverbank, stop by the market where chefs shop - here you can taste local cheeses with wine, artichokes, and oysters. Moreover, we will talk about the character of the local 'Lyonnais' and see the city through their eyes.
