About this experience
Belgrade is a unique city with two historical centers! Once an authentic Austro-Hungarian town, Zemun became a district of the capital in the mid-20th century, but the locals value their history and proudly say: 'We are Zemunci!'. We will feed swans on the Danube waterfront, relax in cozy parks, and see places known to few locals.
What to Expect
A City Within a City
Explore the landmarks of the district - old houses with orange rooftops, medieval cobblestone streets, and small churches - to feel its color and microclimate. Discover parks drowned in greenery, craft workshops, bustling taverns, and acquaint yourself with the legends of old Zemun. We will walk along the picturesque waterfront, ascend the Gardos Hill and Millennium Tower, offering views of New Belgrade and the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. Prepare to hear about the Taurunum fortress, the 'millennium tower,' kings, and prominent citizens.
Serbian Cuisine
Later, we will visit the best farmer's market and talk about local traditions and delicacies. You will learn interesting details about the city's modern life, hear stories about Serbs, their habits, and quirks. And if you wish, we will conclude the stroll in one of the colorful fish restaurants on the Danube waterfront, serving unique dishes.
