About this experience
I invite you to a picturesque wine journey! You will visit the world's first demarcated wine region with clear boundaries, designated estates, and a classification confirmed by royal decree. You will stop by two beautiful wineries. In the first one, you will taste several types of dry wine, and in the second one, you will try port wine. You will also visit the village where Magellan was born.
What to Expect
09:00 Departure from Porto. On the way, I will tell you about local traditions, cuisine, and winemaking. And of course, any questions you have about Portuguese history will find their answers.
10:30 Sabrosa village, where Magellan was born and raised. You will learn about his life and contribution to global history. You will also soak up the atmosphere of an authentic Portuguese village.
11:30 First winery. You will taste local wines in a room overlooking the vineyards or outside at a large stone table. The program includes two types of white wine, one red, and the local pride - a fortified 10-year-old muscat. Light snacks will be served with the drinks.
13:30 Lunch at a local restaurant. I will offer you several options - you will choose your favorite.
15:30 Second winery. Time to get acquainted with port wine! You will taste three samples: a 10-year-old white, 20-year-old Tawny, and Ruby Vintage. You will learn about the styles and classification of port wine.
16:30 Return journey.
