About this experience
Sri Lanka will impress you with its ancient temples, picturesque villages, fantastic nature, and rich wildlife. In three eventful days, you will see and experience a lot! Visit the elephant sanctuary, stroll through the Royal Botanical Garden, and learn about life on the island. Explore the historic city of Kandy and visit one of the country's main Buddhist shrines.
What to Expect
Day 1. Elephant Orphanage Pinnawala and Spice Garden
We will meet you at Bandaranaike International Airport and head to the small town of Pinnawala, home to the famous elephant orphanage. Watch these amazing animals and learn interesting facts about them. You will also visit a unique factory producing souvenirs from elephant dung. The day will end with a visit to the Spice Garden, where you will learn about the beneficial plants of Sri Lanka.
Day 2. Kandy and Temple of the Tooth Relic
Kandy was the last capital of the independent kingdom. Hear the city's history, walk along the shore of the artificial lake, and admire the charming houses perched on hills. We will also visit the renowned Temple of the Tooth Relic from the 18th century. According to legend, after Buddha's cremation, four teeth were taken from the pyre and distributed worldwide. One of them was brought to Sri Lanka. Discover how it is preserved and under what circumstances it is displayed to the public.
Day 3. Royal Botanical Garden
Only a 20-minute drive from Kandy lies the stunning Peradeniya Botanic Gardens, featuring plants from various corners of the world. Wander through picturesque meadows, palm avenues, and well-manicured shady groves. Admire orchids, roses, figs, bamboo, and dozens of palm species. You will even find trees planted by Nicholas II and Yuri Gagarin!
