What to Expect
Your Dream Qatar
Arrived in Doha and not sure where to start exploring the city? I will help you navigate the main attractions and point out interesting places to enjoy views of skyscrapers, go shopping, explore the country's culture, or relax on the beach.
Main Locations and Hidden Gems
I will pick you up from the hotel by car and we will drive to the nearest metro station. From there, our route will begin through tourist (and not so touristy) spots of Doha:
- Take the recently built metro line to the Lusail area, where facilities erected for the FIFA World Cup are located. We will admire the stadiums, the design of which is inspired by Bedouin tents, dances of light and shadows. We will visit thematic sports grounds and note the convenient tracks for running and cycling
- Return to the city center and head to the National Museum of Qatar to appreciate the complex architectural design of the building
- In search of a Middle Eastern atmosphere, we will go to the Fanar Mosque and visit the adjacent bazaar
- If you want to escape the heat, I will take you to the Corniche promenade, to the Aspire Park - or even to secret beaches known only to locals
We will travel around the city by metro - it's fast, convenient, and allows you to see several districts at once. Along the way, I will show you all the places where the city residents go - benches with local products, grocery stores, cafes, and restaurants.
If you are set for serious shopping, I will tell you how to choose the right mall (Villagio Mall, inside of which a river flows, the democratic Lagoona Mall, or the ultra-modern Mall of Qatar with vibrant shows and performances).
Organizational Details
- The excursion takes place by metro, in a comfortable air-conditioned car and on foot
- An additional fee is charged for metro travel: a travel card - 10 riyals (approximately €3), each trip - 2 riyals (approximately €0.5)
- Food and drinks are purchased at your own expense
- All attractions are observed from the outside only
