About this experience
Everything at once – in short, this tour! I will show you one of the most beautiful metropolises of the Arab world. I will introduce you to Qatar – a country with one of the fastest-growing economies. You will see how skyscrapers harmoniously blend with the Old Town and how the residents preserve their traditions. Explore modern art installations and rich museum collections.
What to Expect
Qatar from A to Z
I will tell you the most important and interesting things about the country I have been happily living in for 15 years. About the historical leap from pearl divers' villages to the richest country in the world, about the peculiarities of absolute monarchy and ruling dynasty in Qatar, about currency, flag, and relationships with neighbors. Of course, culture will be a special topic: you will learn about traditions cherished by Qataris, great patriots.
All Attractions in Doha
We start from your hotel and set out to explore the sights of Doha – from the eastern bazaar to the skyscrapers. We will first park the car on the Corniche waterfront and stroll with a view of the business district of the city and the Persian Gulf with traditional dhows.
The next stop is Souq Waqif market, where the air is filled with eastern sounds and aromas. You will visit shops selling falcons (this bird can be called a symbol of Qatar), see a falcon hospital, stables with Arabian horses, camels, and a bird market – the latter will especially appeal to young travelers. In addition, the bazaar abounds with traditional Arab cafes, restaurants, and shops with gold, spices, sweets, and souvenirs.
The market is connected by a passage to the 'smart' Msheireb district, where we will also stop and talk about the preservation of historical heritage in Qatar.
In Katara Cultural Village, created for the leisure of Doha's residents and guests, you will see an amphitheater, the Blue and Golden mosques, pigeon towers, the Galeries Lafayette shopping center, installations by famous artists and sculptors.
The Pearl Island will charm you with postcard views of yachts, boutiques, and colorful houses – here Qatar has created its own Venice!
The final part of the tour will be a visit to one of the museums that will seem more attractive to you:
- The first option – the Qatar National Museum, designed by Jean Nouvel and inspired by the desert rose mineral. In the galleries, you will get acquainted with the chronicles of the country, the flora and fauna of the Arabian Peninsula, the life of Bedouins in the desert.
- The second option – the Museum of Islamic Art, presenting one of the largest collections of Islamic artifacts in the world. You will see manuscripts, textiles, and ceramics dating back up to 1400 years from three continents, and you can also ride around the museum park in a golf cart.
