About this experience
If you prefer to explore the city on two wheels, then you are already a bit of a Berliner! To truly feel at home in the German capital, join me on a bike ride to iconic places in the city - old breweries and art spaces, Hackesche Höfe and Museum Island, where Frau Merkel lives, Berlin's chocolate paradise and grand squares. Cycling through Berlin will reveal the main sights of the German capital, its dynamic daily life and unique character.
What to Expect
Exploring the city's iconic places on two wheels
I will plan our route so that you can see Berlin from different angles and discover its characteristic places that make the German capital unlike any other city in the world.
- First, you will get acquainted with Kulturbrauerei - a former brewery that has been transformed by the city authorities into an unusual cultural art space, embodying modern Berlin.
- Then you will ride through the Hackesche Höfe, imagining how the once urban slums turned into an elite district with the most expensive real estate in the German capital. You will also understand why this picturesque place is protected by the state as a monument of architecture.
- Crossing Museum Island and the famous street Unter den Linden by bike, you will learn where the Nazis burned books and see the most beautiful city square Gendarmenmarkt.
- Along the way, we will visit the oldest chocolate boutique in Berlin, which has been raised almost to the status of a museum by tourists and locals alike.
- Moreover, you will reach the Berlin symbol of the Cold War - Checkpoint Charlie, which today has become one of the most visited tourist attractions in the city, and I will explain why.
Berlin in the middle of the 20th century
We will not overlook Berlin's landmarks associated with the most difficult period in German history. You will ride by the place where the Fuhrer's headquarters - the Reich Chancellery was located, stand above the bunker where Hitler's life ended, and see what now grows above his last refuge. We will also visit two famous Berlin memorials - to the victims of the Holocaust and the Soviet warrior-liberator, admire the Reichstag and the Brandenburg Gate along the way.
As a result, in a few hours, you will not only cover the main Berlin locations but also feel the rhythm of the city, exploring its streets in the favorite way of true Berliners!
