About this experience
I'm sure that Berlin is best explored by bike. With this mode of transport, you will see the most interesting locations of the city. You will learn why the airport in the center was closed and how the concrete cylinder of the Third Reich came about. Immerse yourself in the spirit of the aviators' village and ride through the Turkish districts. Get ready to meet the atypical Berlin!
What awaits you
From business center to leisure spots: the life of Berliners
The bicycle journey will start in the heart of the city, where business life is in full swing. You will ride through the fashionable Schöneberg, where the great Marlene Dietrich was born. You will understand how the aviators' village appeared and where the communist movement of Germany originated. If desired, we will relax in the Beer Garden and discuss the development of Berlin's public transport. We will enjoy the views of Victoria Park, where the city's highest natural mountain is located, and examine the monument connected with the Russian Empire.
Turkish quarters, royal colonnades, 19th-century barracks, and the gift of Nicholas I - you will visit the most diverse places in Berlin, and I will reveal their histories and share fascinating facts about the German capital.
Hitler's “heritage”: constructions from the time of the Third Reich
My story will touch upon one of the most important (and darkest) periods of Berlin - the reign of Adolf Hitler. In the airport, built in the late 30s, you will understand how it appeared, what the Wright brothers' trial resulted in, and why the air harbor was closed decades later. I will tell you how the referendum on preserving the park on this site ended and how the airport survived the capture of Berlin.
The huge concrete cylinder weighing 12 thousand tons - another architectural legacy of the Third Reich. I will explain what Hitler wanted to build in its place and what structures are there now. I will show you the places of the first Nazi prisons and the building where high-profile trials took place before the end of the war. And in the end, we will discuss what kind of Berlin the future Nazi architect envisioned and what records he managed to set.
