What to Expect
City Introduction
On Theatre Square, we will show you the monument to the director and actor Frunzik Mkrtchyan: we will reveal urban legends associated with him and show you the filming locations of his movies. On Rustaveli Street, we will talk about the revival of Gyumri after the earthquake and its return to the tourist maps of Armenia. And turning at the Church of the Holy Sign onto Abovyan Street, we will transport you straight to the 19th century. You will see ancient houses made of black tufa and learn about the technology used to build them.
Becoming Acquainted with Gyumri
We won't burden you with dates and dry encyclopedic facts, but we will help you touch the local color, share urban legends and tales. We will tell you about the modern city, its peculiarities, and differences from Yerevan. We will decipher Armenian traditions, way of life, and customs. We will suggest where to eat delicious food and how to have a great time. In short, we will do everything to make you feel like welcome guests in Gyumri!
