About this experience
The architecture of Istanbul intertwines the cultures of Rome, Byzantium, and the Ottoman Empire to create a beautiful tapestry. Sultan Suleiman Mosque, Egyptian Bazaar, colorful Balat district, a boat trip on the Bosphorus, views of the Asian part of the city, and much more - all included in our program.
What to Expect
I will try to show you the diversity and magnificence of the city without overwhelming you with excessive bookish information.
In the first part of the tour, you will get acquainted with the creation of Istanbul's chief architect, Mimar Sinan - Sultan Suleiman Mosque. I will tell you the history of the Ottoman Empire's Magnificent Century, share the story of the free-spirited Roxelana and her contribution to the empire's development.
Then we will head to the historic Egyptian Bazaar. Here, you will feel the aromas of spices and herbs, see handmade Ottoman pottery, and learn the history of the place's emergence.
We will explore the colorful Balat district with its multicolored houses and staircases, where a mosque, church, and synagogue harmoniously coexist on one street. You will see the Red Greek School - the alma mater of Ottoman ministers, Wallachian and Moldavian princes.
Finally, we will sail on the beautiful Bosphorus and observe the Sultanahmet district from the sea. I will tell you the history of Hagia Sophia and Topkapi.
