What to Expect
Dive Deeper
The walk will start in the heart of the city, from where we will head to the Jordaan district—a creative and inspiring area preserving the look of non-touristy Amsterdam. We will visit concept stores of designer furniture and interior items, unique antiques and jewelry, explore cafes with unusual interiors, and take some amazing photos. The cozy yet lively streets, 19th-century elegance, vibrant multiculturalism will reveal the city's uniqueness.
Later, we will visit the Van Loon House Museum with a picturesque garden. You will see how affluent Dutch families used to live—since the furniture and interior in this house have been preserved to this day. Or we can visit the contemporary photography museum: I will talk about the authors and works displayed here.
Amsterdam for Amsterdammers
On the ferry, we will sail to the north of the city, to the NDSM district—a bit hipster and very creative. Exhibitions, family businesses, startups, antique shops, a fish restaurant with a splendid view, unique beer, and rare wine—it's a real kaleidoscope of urban life! I will guide you to the market, where to find cafes with terraces and the best panorama.
Design and Everyday Life
No dry dates and facts—we will have the most vibrant stories from the city and its residents. I will tell you about world-famous designers and their achievements, styles, and artistic techniques. I will explain what sets Dutch design apart and how exhibitions and salons are organized here. You will understand why the "tulip boom" happened and why dancing houses appeared in Amsterdam. You will learn about Dutch habits, hear their special words, and understand how the desire for freedom and self-realization is instilled in city dwellers from childhood.
