About this experience
Amazing Wroclaw, which has changed hands between states multiple times, is ready to surprise you! On this tour, you will walk along the city bridges, find a bar in a former torture chamber, count the gnomes on the streets, and visit Wroclaw's own 'Vatican'. The city will share its main stories, beautiful legends, flavors of its inhabitants, and a unique atmosphere - a blend of the Middle Ages and modernity.
What to Expect
Iconic Places of the City
At the beginning of the tour, you will find yourself on the oldest market square in Wroclaw, contemplating what could have been sold and bought here centuries ago. You will see the Town Hall and the neighboring rich houses. In the Meat Market complex, imagine how the medieval 'middle class' lived, and on one of the narrow streets, try to guess how houses named Yasia and Małgosia would be called in other countries. You will discover a former torture chamber in the oldest building in Wroclaw, now turned into a bar, and right on the first floor of an administrative building - the oldest brewery: beer has been poured here for 700 years and counting. We will tell you who ruled over Wroclaw at different times, what happened to the city during the war years, and help you navigate its 12 islands.
That's the Wroclaw Way!
You will see Wroclaw University, attended by 9 Nobel laureates in total, and the local 'Vatican' - in other words, the main churches of the city located on Tumski Island with the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in the forefront. Make a wish on the Bridge of Desires and start to understand why Wroclaw residents line up for certain street foods (make sure to take note!). In the authentic part of Wroclaw, you will encounter medieval advertisements that have survived to this day. Taking a closer look at the Church of St. Magdalene, imagine the events of the ancient legend about the Sorceress Bridge, stretching between towers at a height of 45 meters. And throughout the tour, children and all interested individuals will have the chance to 'collect' Wroclaw's gnomes, who have been inhabiting the city streets for many years.
