About this experience
Get ready to meet a picturesque island that has been a seaside resort since the times of the Roman Republic. Over the years, many creative people have come here for inspiration: Wagner, impressed by the beauty of Capri, composed the famous opera "Tristan and Isolde," and Aivazovsky dedicated several paintings to the island. In addition to its natural beauty, you will see the main man-made attractions of Capri, explore luxurious villas and houses, visit the smallest perfume factory in Italy, and stroll through typical streets filled with shops, stalls, and seaside cafes.
What to expect
Villas and panoramas of Anacapri
On the tour, you will visit both parts of the island: Anacapri and Capri. In Anacapri, you will enjoy a beautiful panorama: taking the cable car, you will ascend to the highest point of the island - Mount Solaro (589 meters above sea level) and overlook the Gulf of Naples and the city of Salerno. Our program also includes the most unusual villa on the island, where an Egyptian sphinx fulfills wishes - San Michele. Built by the Swedish doctor and writer Axel Munthe on the site of a former church and imperial villa, it has become one of the island's attractions. Here you will see rare furniture, a collection of valuable artifacts, paintings, and Roman sculptures. In the garden, you will encounter various Mediterranean plants.
Symbols of Capri and perfume factory
From the small park "Gardens of Augustus," you will see the "symbol of natural beauty and eternal freedom" - the winding 150-meter Via Krupp road, conceived by the German steel magnate Friedrich Alfred Krupp. Additionally, you will visit the smallest perfume factory in Italy, which is associated with legends about the prior of the Cartesian monastery, Queen Giovanna d'Anjou, and an alchemist. During the journey, you will hear many myths and legends with which the island has been enriched throughout its eventful history, from the versions of the origin of its name to stories about famous writers, artists, musicians, architects, and politicians who came here for relaxation.
