I will open Naples for you through the prism of local monastery courtyards, mansions, music, and cinema. You will see ancient manuscripts of the Franciscans, appreciate the Baroque luxury in the Jesuit church, and admire the beauty of the city from the observation deck.
What to expect
- You will visit the Franciscan monastery near the Basilica of Saint Clare with gardens in majolica and frescoes in Gothic corridors
- You will visit a thermal complex from the Roman rule times and see manuscripts of the Franciscans in the library premises
- You will explore a medieval mansion with a suspended garden and meet students from the musical philharmonic
- You will enter the Jesuit church in splendid Baroque style, where I will tell you about the canonized saint doctor Giuseppe Moscati and the philosophy of healing love
- You will inspect the architecture of the mansion where the drama with Sophia Loren 'Marriage Italian Style' was filmed, and stroll through the local colorful market
- You will ascend to the residential district of Vomero on the ancient funicular, where from the observation deck you will see panoramas of the sleeping volcano Vesuvius and the most beautiful quarters of the city
- You will find yourself on the roof of the medieval castle Sant'Elmo, from where you will have a view of the city landscape, the islands of Capri, Ischia, and Procida
