About this experience
When you hear about tea plantations, you probably imagine the estates of Sri Lanka, India, or China. But definitely not tropical Malaysia. Let us surprise you: tea is also grown here! You will tour the Cameron Highlands: see how tea leaves are harvested and processed. You will also visit aboriginal homes, a lavender garden, and farms growing cacti and strawberries.
What to Expect
To reach the tea plantations, we will cover a distance of 220 km, the last 60 km of which are a serious serpentine road. But the reward will be beautiful views of emerald slopes and refreshing cool air.
You will see the Latar Iskandar waterfall and villages of aboriginal people living in "huts on chicken legs" - if the hosts allow, you can enter them. Enjoy fresh tea in a cafe overlooking the plantations, observe the process of tea collection and processing by the "Rotorvane" method at the factory. Visit a lavender garden and huge vegetable greenhouses that supply produce throughout Malaysia.
Upon your request, we can visit farms growing strawberries, flowers, and cacti. And have lunch - in a mansion dating back to 1937 or a local restaurant.
