About this experience
We invite you to take a break from the bustling Istanbul and travel to the colorful Bursa, frozen in the times of the Ottoman Empire. Everything here reminds of the bygone era: architecture, food, mosques, the clothing of local residents. We will show you the most interesting places of the city and tell you how people lived here for centuries.
What to expect
Unique Bursa
Two hours on a comfortable ferry - and we are in the picturesque Bursa, located at the foot of Mount Uludag. You will see all the main attractions of the city, learn about its past and present. The excursion program includes:
- Turkish breakfast in the Ottoman village. You will taste the gastronomic specialties of Bursa: coffee with a pine scent and chestnut jam.
- Ulu Cami Mosque - using this magnificent 14th century mosque as an example, we will decipher the features of Eastern architectural styles.
- Koza Han Silk Market - you will appreciate the variety of local fabrics and learn about caravanserais.
- Green Mosque - the most brightly decorated mosque in the city. You will examine its facade made of white marble and the prayer hall lined with green tiles. And also visit the namesake mausoleum of the Ottoman sultan Mehmed I.
- Tophane Viewpoint - we will see the ancient clock tower and enjoy the wonderful views of the city.
- Jumalıkızık Ottoman Village - a settlement with a 700-year history, preserving the traditional village lifestyle and authentic architecture. Upon request, we will visit a couple of houses for tea and chat with their hospitable hosts.
