About this experience
This journey combines two completely different parts. The goal of the trip is, of course, to visit the DMZ, see how this zone is organized, and remember why it appeared in the first place. I have traveled the entire 38th parallel, along which the border between Koreas runs, and I am ready to show and tell you everything interesting. And if you want, I can take you to beautiful natural places nearby.
What to Expect
Both Korean and Russian blood run in my veins. My ancestors on the Korean side ended up in Russian lands by fate, so every time I visit the border between South and North Koreas, which passes along the 38th parallel, I involuntarily remember them, who once fled from war.
Advantages of this trip
In every hotel, you will find brochures of group tours in DMZ in English. I conduct the tour in Russian and with my own car!
- Meeting at your hotel no later than 5:30 am. Breakfast is pre-agreed, usually stopping at a roadside cafe.
- Driving along barbed wire and checkpoints installed all along the road, along the river.
- On the way, we stop for coffee, and if the weather is nice, we enjoy a beautiful sunrise from the car while sipping coffee.
- Arrival at the parking lot: while I solve organizational details, you can rest in the car or take a walk in the Unification Park.
- Exploring the surroundings: Peace Bell, War Wall, bunker + documentaries, Bridge of No Return, shelled train, the story of a revered man in Korea and his hope to reunite with his family.
- Free time for photos and a stroll.
- Transfer through the checkpoint.
- Village of Reconciliation (driving through).
- Invasion tunnel (descent and ascent).
- DMZ Museum and documentary film.
- Viewing platform overlooking North Korea.
- Return transfer to the parking lot through the checkpoint.
Picturesque Corners of Korea (optional)
Aside from immersing in the harsh reality, you will encounter natural and authentic places. We will drive along the 38th parallel through villages and mountains. We will stop at a waterfall, where you will hear a beautiful love story. You will take a walk on the bridge and visit a glass observation deck on your own. Then I will take you to a local village restaurant along a beautiful road - a true mountain splendor. Here you can try Korean-style duck, for example. And finally, you will relax by the stream.
