About this experience
Get ready for an immersive day trip around Seoul. During this tour, you will see two completely different sides of the city. One historical, where the capital of the ancient Choson state was located. The other modern, home to the affluent district of Gangnam. We will explore Seoul by car with stops. And of course, I will tell you about its past and present.
What to Expect
North Side of Seoul
- Large South Gate of Namdaemun, which once served as an entrance to the ancient city (drive-by, optional stop for photos)
- Toksu Palace (drive-by)
- Old and new City Hall buildings (drive-by)
- Central Kwanghwa Gate Plaza (drive-by)
- Colorful changing of the guard at one of 5 remaining palaces from ancient Korea, with a stop. It may be canceled in bad weather or for other reasons.
- Presidential Palace, Phoenix Fountain (drive-by)
- Current presidential residence, history of assassination (drive-by)
- "Road to the Sky" - mountain serpentine. Stop and walk in the park, overlooking the city. There are no tourists here, only locals know about this place, public transport does not go here.
- Authentic village on the mountain (walk)
- Chogyesa Buddhist Temple (stop and walk)
- Oasis in the city center (history in photos and optional walk)
- Russian Street (drive-by, can only stop for a couple of minutes as there is no parking, cameras everywhere)
- DDP - architectural creation of the new era by Zaha Hadid (drive-by, optional stop for viewing)
- Lunch - food court (clean inexpensive place in the mall, a wide selection of food for every taste)
- American Itaewon District and American base (drive-by)
- Antique street (drive-by)
South Side of Seoul
- Transfer to the other side of the river
- Olympic Stadium, where the 1988 Olympics were held (drive-by)
- Tallest skyscraper in Korea. Lotte Tower 555m high (stop, optional visit to the observation deck)
- Bronze sculpture of the hands from the song "Gangnam Style" (5-minute stop, no parking)
- Most expensive district in Korea Gangnam (drive-by)
