About this experience
In a modern metropolis, there are not so many chances to touch the wild nature, and watching feathered neighbors is one of them. We will visit two locations where migratory birds live. Using binoculars, telescopes, and phone cameras, we will observe representatives of the feathered creatures. We will identify them in the birdwatchers' book and learn how to determine when they undergo seasonal migration and how to distinguish them by the color of their feathers.
What to Expect
The Colchis forests, unique for their endemic flora, which survived the last glacial period, have become a haven for more than 400 bird species. During our exploration, we will visit two locations - the delta of the Chorokhi River and the observation deck in the village of Shuamta. You will learn:
- which birds you can encounter in Batumi and its surroundings (more than 200 species have been discovered in the city alone)
- how to visually recognize feathered creatures among each other
- how to distinguish birds by their voices
- who is singing outside your windows
- and much more!
We are confident that by the end of the excursion, you will understand why birdwatching is one of the most fascinating and popular hobbies in the world, encouraging you to spend more time outdoors.
