What to Expect
🚢 🚘 We will meet you at the gangway of the cruise liner in the port of Bangkok Laem Chabang and drive to the historical center of the city - the royal island of Rattanakosin.
Grand Royal Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha
The first stop will be the palace, where you will walk through inner courtyards, alleys, and parks, learn about traditional Siamese palace architecture, and hear interesting facts about the revered local shrine - the Emerald Buddha. You will witness the changing of the royal guard and discover why the guards are dressed in the uniform of the Russian Imperial Army. Explore Queen Sirikit's wardrobe with her personal collection of silk dresses. Also, visit the museum of royal regalia and weapons from different eras.
Long-tail boat excursion through the 'Venice of the East'
Bangkok is often called that, as in ancient times water canals were used instead of roads. Here, just like 300 years ago, people live by the water in small houses on stilts and travel by water. You will experience the daily life of ordinary Thais, incredibly contrasting with the royal splendor. Feed the fish in the river directly from your hands, which, according to local beliefs, purifies karma. And if you desire, try something delicious at the floating market, where vendors and buyers move on small boats.
Ritual for Luck, Largest Reclining Buddha, and Magical Sunset
At the Temple of Dawn, depicted on a 10-baht coin, you will visit the abbot of the temple and take part in a ceremony to attract luck, where a Buddhist monk will tie sacred ribbons on your wrist. Cross the river Chao Phraya on a ferry to Wat Pho Temple. Walk around the largest Reclining Buddha statue (46 meters long) and enjoy the shady galleries of the temple. And at the end, admire the sunset at the top of the Golden Mount in Wat Saket Temple, which offers an incredible panorama of the royal island of Rattanakosin and the modern city of skyscrapers.
