About this experience
In the heart of the Armenian Highlands lies a beautiful lake, guarded by mountain ranges - it is impossible to imagine a journey through Armenia without it. In our program, you will not only admire the lake landscapes and visit the Sevanavank monastery, but also enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the best restaurants on Sevan. We promise interesting stories about the history and modernity, comfort, and a heartfelt approach!
What to expect
Around Sevan: landscapes and Sevanavank monastery
On the way from Yerevan to our "sea" Sevan, you will learn about the lake's name, its influence on Armenia's ecology and economy. You will hear about the historical battle between the Armenian kingdom and the Arab caliphate in the 10th century.
We will stop at the peninsula to explore the monastery, the historical-architectural complex Sevanavank. Here, you will enjoy the harmony of natural and man-made and get acquainted with a rare khachkar (traditional Armenian crosses on stones).
After the cultural part, you will have time to stroll, take photos, and enjoy the views of the lake and its surrounding velvety mountain ranges.
Lunch by the shore
Famished? Lunch will be organized for our group in a worthy restaurant by the lake: you will taste the famous Sevan fish and a local delicacy - kebab of crayfish necks.
