About this experience
During this car tour around the Absheron Peninsula, you will visit an unusual Indian fire worshipers temple, learn about its history, hear about the life of Zoroastrians and their religion, and also see the natural eternal flame burning since ancient times.
What to expect
- Ateshgyah – a temple of eternal fire, located 30 km from the center of Baku, on the outskirts of the village of Surakhani. Here, preachers of Zoroastrianism, one of the oldest religions, worshiped fire. "Ateshgyah" means "House of Fire", "Place of Fire". You will learn the history of this amazing place and its inhabitants, see the rooms where they lived and prayed.
- Yanar Dag ("Burning Mountain"). A natural eternal flame with natural gas coming out from under the ground.
