About this experience
The tour is suitable for both first-time visitors to Thailand and those who have already seen much here, but not everything! You will visit the world-famous 'Unfolding Umbrellas' market on the railway tracks, ride a boat to another market - but this time on water, discover the secrets of coconut sugar production, and observe the salt harvesting process. A complete immersion in the local culture is guaranteed!
What to expect
- Our journey will begin with a visit to the 'Unfolding Umbrellas' market in Maeklong. You will witness an amazing spectacle: when the train approaches, hundreds of umbrellas fold up, and the stalls on the railway tracks instantly move to make way for the passing train.
- Next, our path will lead us to the equally famous Damnoen Saduak floating market. We will board individual boats and cruise among the stalls of local traders offering fresh fruits, vegetables, and souvenirs. Along the way, the guide will tell you about Thai traditions and customs.
- After that, we will head to a coconut farm, where you will see the process of coconut sugar production. You will also learn about traditional coconut processing methods, discover the numerous ways this valuable product is used, and try your hand at being a sugar maker.
- Our journey will conclude with a visit to a salt farm. The guide will explain the process of salt production from the waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Here, you can also observe traditional salt harvesting methods.
