What to Expect
Perge - a journey through the ages
Ancient city of Perge is a find for connoisseurs of ancient history. You will explore the ruins of the amphitheater and the temple of Artemis and see what remains of the Roman baths, stadium, and gates. We will reveal to whom the city belonged in different eras, how it became the center of Pamphylia, and why it gradually declined during the Byzantine domination. You will also learn about the connections between Perge and Lydia, Persia, the Seleucid Empire, and how it is related to Alexander the Great.
Majestic Aspendos and Kurshunlu Park
Aspendos is another interesting ancient city. You will see the preserved ruins of the basilica, hippodrome, and market square on its territory and appreciate the aqueduct responsible for the city's water supply. You will also hear about what Aspendos was famous for in antiquity and what modern show was held at its stadium until recently. Finally, we will visit the Kurshunlu National Park, where you will enjoy bird songs, the coolness of the Aksu River, and the magnificent waterfall.
