We will travel from Side to the small town of Demre, where many interesting events have taken place over the centuries. This was the most important center of Lycia - Myra, where Saint Nicholas lived and preached. You will visit the church dedicated to him, see the grand amphitheater and unravel the secrets of the rock-carved tombs.

Journey into antiquity
You will walk through the ruins of the ancient city of Myra, admire the magnificent Lycian rock tombs and the 10,000-seat Greco-Roman theater. I will decipher the principles of constructing Lycian tombs and reveal who was depicted on the coins minted here. I will also help you immerse yourself in the rich history of the city: from its foundation to its peak and decline.
The history of Nicholas of Patara
The Church of Saint Nicholas is a major attraction in the vicinity of Myra. You will admire ancient frescoes and inspect the sarcophagus where the relics of the saint were kept until the 11th century. I will decipher the ornament adorning the floor and the playing card suits on the walls of the church. I will show you 'The Last Supper' fresco and help you find the image of Judas Iscariot. Additionally, I will share stories and legends about the life of Saint Nicholas of Myra.
