What to Expect
Amsterdam through the artist's history
Over three hundred years have passed since the legendary Dutch genius lived in this city. But some corners of Amsterdam still breathe his invisible presence. You will see the market square with the former Weigh House where Rembrandt painted his famous artwork "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp". The headquarters of the Dutch East India Company, which connects the genius and the economic boom when the Dutch dominated global trade. And of course, you will remember the largest Protestant church in Amsterdam, where on October 4, 1669, the master was buried in a communal grave.
Rembrandt's House Museum
Here he lived in his most flourishing years. He was rich, famous, and happy with his beloved wife Saskia. The house contains what surrounded him during his lifetime: the kitchen, bedroom, household items vividly depict Dutch life in the 17th century. And on the third floor, there is a workshop for making etchings - a kind of printing house of those days. And Rembrandt himself, as it is known, was an unrivaled master of etching. You will not overlook any corner of his mansion and will hear the most interesting facts from the artist's biography. After visiting his home and getting acquainted with everyday objects and personal belongings, you will probably look at the creator's works differently.
