About this experience
Imagine being transported to the Amsterdam of olden times, when noble ladies squeezed into corsets and wore wigs. Jan Vermeer painted 'The Milkmaid' and Rembrandt created the romantic image of Flora. I will tell you about the famous heroes of their paintings and help you transform into one of them.
What to Expect
We will stroll through the ancient streets of Amsterdam, talk about the life of the city's residents in the 16th-18th centuries and the fashion of that time. You will learn why ladies powdered wigs, how married women were distinguished by the size of the ears on their caps, and why the Dutch slept sitting up. We will remember the great painters and discuss the famous characters from their paintings. And then we will proceed to transform you into one of them.
You can become Vermeer's milkmaid, his girl with a pearl earring, or Flora - the goddess of flowers from Rembrandt's painting. The choice of costumes is quite wide. Under the careful guidance of a professional photographer, you will embody the chosen image and strike the right pose for a portrait.
After the photo session, if you wish, we can visit Rembrandt's house, where I will tell you even more interesting facts about the features of costumes and the domestic culture of 17th century Dutch people.
