About this experience
Let's take a break from historical dates and the usual route from Dam Square to the Red Light District and back. Let us show you Amsterdam as locals know it! On a friendly walk, we will explore the favorite neighborhoods, streets, and spots of Amsterdammers, immerse ourselves in Dutch life, and talk about the city's modern residents.
What to expect
Amsterdam for its residents
We will meet at Dam Square – the heart of the city, and then we will stroll through areas rarely visited by regular tourists. I will reveal to you authentic corners and beloved spots of the locals, show establishments where even a discerning gourmet can find something to their taste. We will definitely take a short break to try traditional Dutch snacks or unusual dishes from the local cuisine. After exploring the non-touristy nooks of the Jordaan and Oud-West districts, we will return to Dam Square along the favorite route of Amsterdammers.
How do the Dutch live?
Our friendly walk will be in the format of a casual conversation about Amsterdam and its colorful inhabitants. I will not delve into historical details but will tell you in detail about how the city lives here and now, who walks the non-touristy streets and what usually concerns its modern residents. We will delve into the daily life and routines of an average Amsterdammer and figure out how life in the capital differs from the weekdays of a small cozy town in the Netherlands.
