During our journey, you will discover the secrets hidden behind the grand facades of the Zwinger complex, the Frauenkirche church, and the Semper Opera House, you will 'read' the history of the Wettin dynasty on ancient porcelain panels, and stroll along the Elbe River on the Bruhl Terrace. Architectural heritage of the Old Town
Our route will cover the landmarks of Altstadt, which will reveal Dresden from different angles – as a medieval Saxon capital, the 'Florence on the Elbe', a center of world art, and a modern dynamic city. Get ready to explore the main symbols of the city:
- Zwinger – a luxurious palace complex of the 19th century, which now houses the three main museums of Dresden: the Physics-Mathematics Salon, the Porcelain Museum, and the Gallery of Old Masters that attracts travelers from all over the world.
- Residence Palace – the city's oldest building. Here you will get acquainted with the origins of the Saxon capital, explore the tournament and stable courtyards, and learn about the nobility's entertainment in the Middle Ages.
- Semper Opera House – the magnificent opera theater of Dresden.
- Porcelain panel 'Procession of Princes', included in the Guinness World Records, illustrating the history of the Wettin dynasty – the ruling house of Saxony.
- Bruhl Terrace – a picturesque promenade along the Elbe River, where we will talk about Dresden's 'White Fleet'.

Walking on Dresden's cobblestones, we will step into the city's history and discuss those aspects that will be of interest to you. You will see buildings rebuilt after bombings, learn about the May Uprising against King Friedrich August II, draw interesting parallels between the city's past and its modern realities. I will also tell you about the Russian trace in Dresden's history, connected with the names of Peter the Great, Dostoevsky, Kramskoy, Brullov, Repin, and other iconic cultural and political figures of Russia.
