About this experience
In one day, you will discover that besides the sea and the beach, Cyprus has other remarkable places that will appeal to both adults and children. We will visit a farm with charming donkeys, explore an ethnographic museum, learn about Cypriot traditions, and see the abandoned city of Varosha. In the pottery workshop, kids will be able to make a small souvenir with their own hands.
What to Expect
For Kids: Donkeys, Clay, and Museum
- Donkey Farm - the main goal of our adventure. Kids can feed and pet the animals, ride a donkey, and meet other farm residents: ponies, Shami goats, Vietnamese pigs, and spotted deer.
- Ethnographic Museum, where each room is a workshop dedicated to one of Cyprus' crafts. Children will learn about the past life of Cypriots, see objects used by cobblers, tailors, blacksmiths, fishermen, weavers, bakers, and winemakers.
- Pottery Workshop: here, young participants will hear about Pythagoras' magic bowl, observe the master at work, and be able to sculpt something out of pottery clay.
For Adults: Ghost City, Frescoes, and Monastery
- Ghost Town Varosha. From the viewing platform, you will see the panorama of this place: the buffer zone, checkpoints of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, abandoned luxury hotels. I will tell you about the tragic events that led to the island's division.
- Monastery of St. Kyriaki, where you can light a candle for the health of your loved ones, wash with holy water, and see preserved frescoes in a traditional 15th-century Byzantine church.
