What to Expect
Vienna Symbols
Our journey will begin in front of the Albertina Gallery and in 1.5 hours will cover the landmarks that have always been the "brands" of the capital. You will see the Opera and the Plague Column, erected in honor of victory over the terrible disease, the elegant City Hall and the Hofburg Palace. You will be transported to medieval Vienna on Naglergasse Street, admire the ensembles of the main squares, pass by one of the oldest libraries in the world, and appreciate the Minorite Church.
Vienna from an Architectural Perspective
Several epochs are captured in the image of this majestic city:
- The Middle Ages in the Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral;
- Baroque in the Imperial Residence Hofburg;
- The late 19th century in the boulevard ring Ringstrasse with twin museums, the Austrian Parliament, and other masterpieces.
You will trace the influence of the empire on the architecture of the Old Town, seeing numerous churches, palaces, and parks, as well as traditional coffee houses, without which Vienna cannot be imagined.
The Vienna You Are Waiting For
On tours, I always focus on the travelers' interests. This walk is an introduction to the city, so I will not delve into historical intricacies with dates, but will give you a general vision of Vienna's biography and iconic places. And I will also tell you about modern life: from local traditions and cuisine to salaries and the opinions of the Viennese living in the city center.
