What to Expect
Scented Saragozza
We will start the walk at the Piazza San Francesco, where you will admire a basilica in a gothic style uncommon for Bologna. Continuing through medieval alleys, we will head to the wonderful residential area of Saragozza with charming villas and gardens. Here you can wander for eternity, inhaling the scents of magnolia, enjoying the harmony of shapes and colors, and observing the locals' way of life!
Picturesque trail to the Temple of Saint Luke
Leaving the main city gates behind, we will make our way to the hilltop Temple of Saint Luke. It is a center of Christian pilgrimage, as it houses an icon of the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus, painted by Saint Luke. On the way to the temple, you will pass under 666 arcades and enjoy views of Bologna and the hills of Emilia-Romagna. And finally, if you wish, you can ascend to the terrace with a 180-degree panorama.
Bologna from Within
You will hear many stories about work, family traditions, education, and the mentality of Italians. You will debunk some stereotypes about local life and understand the special charm of Bologna. And if you desire, you can try the local enticing coffee, sweets, or even a light 'aperitivo' and fully immerse yourself in the tender Bolognese 'dolce vita'.
