About this experience
Join me on a shopping tour that transforms into a full cultural experience. As we stroll along the covered walkways, a signature feature of Bologna, you will explore various shops, admire the old architecture, browse through antique markets, and delve into Bolognese cuisine both in theory and in practice. You will also get a taste of what's happening in Bologna not just in general, but specifically today, right now, this very evening. Trust me, the city is alive and vibrant, and immersing yourself in it is an opportunity not to be missed!
What to Expect
Luxury and Gastronomy in Bologna
We will start our walk in Galvani Square, pass by the most beautiful arcades, and then head to Galleria Cavour, where you will encounter boutiques of Emporio Armani, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Prada. I will narrate the history of the gallery, known for being the "most luxurious shopping within a hundred-kilometer radius." Three million visitors annually not only shop here but also participate in various events and parties held within these walls. After the gallery, we will navigate the labyrinth of medieval streets, where I will help you discover the most delicious dishes from Bolognese cuisine, which you can either taste on the spot or make a note of for later.
Roman Heritage and Outlet Shopping
From Palazzo Mercanzia, we will reach Santo Stefano Square with its eponymous complex - one of the most faithful reproductions of Jerusalem in Europe. Here, we will discuss antique shops, designer accessories, and vintage stores. Moving on to the Two Towers, medieval skyscrapers, I will share insights into the peculiarities of city construction in Ancient Rome. The two intersecting arteries of the city, laid out in antiquity, now resemble a commercial and entertainment center - especially on weekends when they become pedestrian-friendly. Here you will find affordable clothing brands, and for collections of Italian designers, we can venture into the "interesting fashion district." The choice of direction is yours!
Tips from a Local
You can ask any questions about Bologna: from where to buy local products to how to save on purchasing tasty souvenirs for friends and family. I will share the most captivating legends about the city and show you the building where the original recipes of traditional regional cuisine are securely kept. Using a map of Bologna, I can pinpoint places where past-season collections from brands like MaxMara are on sale at unbelievable prices.
Bonus: Bologna is a city that never sleeps, vibrant with a festival atmosphere. Marathons, concerts, exhibitions, movie screenings - the list is endless. Any day, you can stumble upon a concert (many of which are free): from harpsichord and organ music to jazz and rock. At the Teatro Comunale - opera (after all, we are in Italy!), ballet, symphonic concerts. I invest a great deal of time in simply knowing what's happening around, and I will gladly share this information with you! Hopefully, we can attend an event together :)
