About this experience
You will walk in the center of Turku and see wooden houses and monumental buildings in the Empire style, visit the Cathedral and the luxurious ancient castle where the royal family lived. I will tell you what distinguishes Turku from other Finnish cities and reveal its secrets!
What to expect
Oh, glorious Middle Ages!
You will visit the Cathedral and learn the history of the Catholic, and after the Reformation - the Lutheran temple. You will admire architectural structures in the Empire style and visit the Port Arthur district, famous for wooden houses from the beginning of the 20th century. I will reveal the rich history of Turku and explain why after the crusades on the banks of the Aura River, Catholic churches began to appear.
The Secrets of the Royal Fortress
You will visit the medieval fortress where the Swedish royal family lived. I will vividly tell you how in those distant times the interiors of the castle were dominated by the Renaissance style, in the large festive halls conversations did not cease, and the court life of the Duke and Duchess was talked about throughout the kingdom. You will not just walk around the castle, but you will get acquainted with the ancient interiors and way of life: see the dungeons, the ballroom, the king and queen's chambers, and the ladies' rooms. And I will also show you what dishes they ate from and what costumes and jewelry the castle's residents wore.
