What to expect
Marine landscapes of ancient Kamakura
You will find yourself on the ocean coast in the first military capital of ancient Japan - Kamakura. Nowadays, it is a picturesque town with a mild maritime climate, famous for its traditional temples, scenic beaches, wooded hills, and millennia-old history. Here you will learn about the formation of the samurai class, the distribution of power between the Emperor and the shogun, the Mongol invasions, and events from the history of Japan. You will see the main attraction of the city - the Great Buddha and the Hasedera temple complex. And if you wish, we will walk to the local beach and admire the coastline.
Amazing Sankei-en Park
On the outskirts of Yokohama, you will visit the beautiful landscaped Sankei-en park in Japanese style. Here you can see many ancient buildings that were brought to the park from different parts of the country at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries at the request of the silk merchant Hara Tomitaro, the creator of Sankei-en. You will walk along the park paths, admire the architecture of the buildings and how harmoniously they fit into the park landscape.
Modern port city Yokohama
Then we will take a walk along the streets of Yokohama - one of the largest modern port cities in Japan. We will visit the local Chinatown, where you can have a snack, and then walk through the central part and the city's waterfront. On the way, you will see an old cruise liner and a pier with a wonderful view of Yokohama, and then climb to the observation deck of the Landmark Tower skyscraper and enjoy the cityscape from a bird's eye view. And in good weather, you can even see Tokyo and Mount Fuji from here!
