About this experience
Aidarkul is like a mirage in the desert. Among the endless sands, a lake of astonishing beauty suddenly emerges. You will swim in it in the soft evening sunlight. During the day, you will visit the ancient city of Nurata. You will observe its authentic life, see a 16th-century mosque, a thousand-year-old spring, and the fortress of Alexander the Great. We will tell you about the local history, traditions, and customs.
What to Expect
Nurata City. We will visit the ancient city, whose name translates as 'light given by God'. You will see the historical complex of Chashma, consisting of a spring and a 16th-century Juma mosque. We will also show you the fortress of Alexander the Great and an ancient hammam. We will share stories and legends associated with them.
Lake Aidarkul. This is a huge artificial reservoir in the Kyzylkum desert. Its length is 200 km, width - 15 km. On the shore of the lake, you will feel like in another world: only sand dunes, blue sky, and crystal clear water around. You can swim in the lake: the water is very warm and pleasant.
