About this experience
The salty Aydarkul Lake, framed by sands and mountain ranges, is called the second Aral Sea. The trip to it is an adventure in itself. We will drive through the Kyzylkum desert. You will see camels, turtles, horses. Accommodation is provided in comfortable cottages by the lake, enjoy a crimson sunset in the evening, and greet the rising sun in the morning.
What to Expect
- We will depart from Tashkent at 7 a.m. on the highway that previously passed the Great Silk Road. You will witness how the green landscapes outside the window gradually turn into a desert. I will tell you about our region, its inhabitants, and customs.
- After 2 hours, we will reach the city of Jizzakh. I will treat you to the local signature dish - Jizzakh samosa with juicy meat filling.
- Another 2 hours of travel - and we are in Paris. That’s what the locals call the Farish district, where the legendary Kyzylkum desert begins.
- We will pass through sand dunes. Along the way, we will remove Central Asian turtles from the road and wave to shepherds herding camels.
- An hour later, a wonder will unfold before us - the mighty Aydarkul Lake.
- You will stay in comfortable cottages with all amenities right on the shore of the lake. Optionally, you can ride camels or boats, go fishing from the pier or boat. Spend the night in this wonderful place and return back to Tashkent the next day.
Organizational Details
- The excursion includes transfer by Chevrolet Captiva car, guide services, accommodation in wooden cottages, meals along the route and in the rest area, drinking water on the road.
- Additionally (optional), camel riding - $5/person, boat riding - $5/person.
