About this experience
We invite you to explore the nature of Tajikistan. We will not overload you with unnecessary information, but show you the best corners of our country. You will enjoy the enchanting views of the Fann Mountains, see the lake teeming with snakes, find a message from the traveler Alexey Fedchenko, and take great shots under the streams of a 43-meter waterfall.
What to Expect
- Our path to the lake lies through the Varzob Gorge and one of the highest and most beautiful passes in Tajikistan - Anzob. By car, we will have to cover 140 kilometers (3 hours).
- As we climb to an altitude of 2195 meters above sea level, we will find ourselves at Iskanderkul Lake. You will walk along the shore, enjoy breathtaking views, learn how the lake got its name, how it was formed, and what Alexander the Great has to do with it.
- Near Iskanderkul, there are several other natural attractions. We will definitely visit Snake Lake, which is populated by many snakes due to the high water temperature. This is a great place for photo shoots!
- We will also reach the 43-meter Fann Niagara Waterfall, located on the river that flows from Iskanderkul. Let's look at the cliff with the inscription 'Ruskіe, 1870', left by the expedition of the famous scientist and traveler Alexey Fedchenko. Then you will have free time to enjoy the landscapes at your leisure and take photos.
