What to Expect
- Zaanse Schans welcomes us with panoramic views of the Zaan River, picturesque fields, houses, and windmills. The perfect spot for the first photo!
- First, let's visit the "grandfather" of the most famous supermarket chain 'Albert Heijn'. This small museum-shop will reveal the secrets of 19th-century trade. You will learn how a young man created a food empire that has held leading positions for 135 years.
- "Hope for the Black Whale" - a restaurant with a whimsical name and a landmark we cannot miss. I will tell you the role that whaling played in the lives of 18th-century fashionistas.
- We will visit a mill where paints are made from unusual materials, such as exotic insects. Even Rembrandt used them for his paintings! And the best museums in the world still use them for restoration.
- The cheeses at the local cheese factory will delight you with their taste and variety of flavors. There are more than 20 types here! We will study the process of their production step by step and take photos as a keepsake.
- We will visit the largest and most beautiful museum of wooden shoes in the Netherlands. A master will make a pair right before your eyes. And I will tell you why the Dutch love them so much and the role they played in history.
- To indulge in luxury and beauty, we will visit one of the diamond shops that the Netherlands are famous for. Here, they offer products with a unique cut of 268 facets!
