About this experience
In the ancient capital, you will visit the most important landmarks of the city: the Jvari Monastery, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, and Samtavro Monastery. You will follow Georgia's religious path and hear ancient legends. In the modern capital, you will take a walk through the famous courtyards, where scenes from great Danelli, Parajanov's nocturnes, faces of Fellini and Chelentano will come to life... for Tbilisi is a theater! You will be the audience, and I will be the assistant director and the voice behind the scenes.
What to Expect
Ancient capital of Georgia, founded by Noah's great-grandson
In the sacred city of Mtskheta, you will visit the 6th-century Jvari Monastery - a place described by Lermontov in the poem 'Mtsyri': 'Like two sisters embracing, the streams of Aragvi and Kura...'. You will visit the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (Pillar of Life), where I will tell you the legend of Christ's chiton. Next, you will stroll to the Samtavro Monastery, where the tomb of the first Georgian Christian king Mirian and his wife Queen Nana is located, as well as the relics of the holy elder Gabriel of Samtavro. During the excursion, we will talk about the origins of Christianity in Georgia and the most significant historical-religious events that influenced the formation of the Georgian people's mentality and values. On the way to Tbilisi, you can have a snack at Salobio, a famous place known for its delicious national cuisine.

A lady with ample forms conquers men, a approving whistle is heard. The closer we get to the square, the street becomes Beybutov. From Europe, we slide into Asia. Balconies hang like grape clusters, and the fountains invite you to cool off...

Nika conducted the first part, and his architect historian friend led the second one. Regarding the first part, I can note that Nika knows beautif...
