About this experience
After the upheavals of the Civil War, many representatives of the Russian White emigration were forced to settle in Paris. On a walk through little-known streets, you will find their homes; learn about the interests of high society; discover the modernist quarter; and in an old confectionery shop, taste meringues exactly like those enjoyed by the aristocrats.
What to expect
Walk in the footsteps of Russian aristocrats
We will meet in the Grenelle district, where our compatriots, who fled the horrors of the 1917 revolution, settled not far from the Citroën car factory. In the quiet neighborhoods of Ottey and La Muette, where we will go afterwards, you will learn about the new haven of the Russian aristocracy, forced to live in modest and unglamorous Parisian homes. And on an inconspicuous street, near one of these houses, we will talk about the brilliant Prince Felix Yusupov, who bid farewell to life here.
Touches of secular life in the past
You will visit famous French confectioners, who are today shaping the future of the confectionery industry worldwide with their own hands. And you will try the most delicate meringues, which Russian aristocrats have always loved to indulge in. You will see Longchamp Racecourse, the heart of high society life at the beginning of the last century. Take a walk in the picturesque park with greenhouses at the foot of the tennis courts of Roland Garros Stadium, where I will talk about the triumphs of Russian athletes. You will also hear the captivating story of the mythical Molitor pool, the center of high society life of the Art Deco era.
☕ In addition, you will discover the lesser-known Paris in the modernist quarter on the Seine embankment and enjoy coffee with a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. And if the walk falls on a Saturday - you will visit the classic Parisian weekend market.
