Architectural Masterpieces of the Medici Era
Get ready to explore the treasures of the Florentine Renaissance: during the tour, you will see the Medici Palace and its inner courtyard, examine the Church of San Lorenzo, and of course, visit the Medici Chapels Museum. We will visit the crypt where 34 members of the powerful family are laid to rest. We will admire the most precious structure built with Medici money; the grand octagonal Chapel of the Princes, entirely lined with marble and semi-precious stones. The highlight of the tour will be the visit to the sacristy of the Church of San Lorenzo, built by Michelangelo himself on the orders of Pope Leo X, also a Medici: here you will see tombs adorned with the famous allegorical sculptures 'Day', 'Night', 'Morning', 'Evening', which brought incredible fame to Michelangelo.
