About this experience

You will walk through the streets of the ancient Gothic Quarter, where each building preserves a piece of Catalonia's centuries-old history. What to expect
Cathedral details
You will examine the facade and interior decoration of the main building of the Gothic Quarter - the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia. I will tell you why Saint Eulalia is the city's patron saint, guide you through the luxurious chapels where the counts of Barcelona, cathedral priests, and city nobility are buried, and introduce you to the history, relics, and sanctuaries of the cathedral.
Mosaic of architecture: from antiquity to Catalan Gothic
We will walk through the most remarkable corners of the Gothic Quarter, preserving architectural monuments from different eras. You will see the columns of the Temple of Augustus built by the Romans, witness a Roman necropolis, and stroll through the square where the Roman Forum was located. And right next to it, at King's Square, lies the large Royal Palace, once the residence of the Catholic Monarchs. You will learn about the receptions held here for Columbus after his long voyages, and also explore two masterpieces of Catalan Gothic: the Chapel of Saint Agatha and the Tinel Hall.
Stories of the Jewish Quarter
We will definitely visit the most medieval in spirit and architecture, the Jewish Quarter of El Call. Immersing ourselves in the labyrinth of narrow mysterious alleyways where one of the wealthiest Jewish communities in the Middle Ages lived, you will become acquainted with the lives and traditions of Catalan Jews and visit the recently restored large synagogue.
Legends and atmosphere of medieval Barcelona
The Gothic Quarter is not only rich in architectural landmarks but also in a mesmerizing atmosphere that you will feel while observing the beautiful houses and churches hiding in the shadows of old alleys. Along the way, I will tell you fascinating urban legends and myths, stories about the city's saints, daily life, and the lifestyle of the inhabitants of medieval Barcelona.
