About this experience
Jewelry technique minankari is like time forged in metal. Behind the external simplicity and elegance are layers of culture and history that we will reveal to you at the master class. And when you master working with enamel and create your own jewelry piece, there will be no doubt: each piece is a true work of art!
What to expect
In the late 20th century, there was a rapid revival of jewelry art in the technique of minankari in Georgia. We carefully preserve the traditions of this craft and know how to organically weave it into the rhythm and fashion of our time. Minankari technique items are mainly made on gold or silver. Just imagine: in a small, noble metal-enclosed compartment, you need to manually lay up to 20 layers of enamel, each of which is fired separately. The jewelry pieces come out deep and voluminous.
At the master class in a 17th-century building, you will get acquainted with the history of cloisonné enamel and the principles of its production, as well as reveal its role in Georgian culture. The minankari technique is not complicated, you will be able to master the key techniques in a couple of hours. The uniqueness of this craft is that all work is done by hand - this means that you won't find two identical pieces. The exquisite piece you create yourself will adorn any look or become a unique souvenir.

Excellent master class. And Nino, who conducted the master class, had an exhibition in Manhattan! If you ask, Nino can even show photos ;) Not only did I make beautiful earrings that I now wear with pleasure, but I also had a great time in Nino's company.

Nino talked about this ancient craft with great love. It was noticeable that she was a professional in her field. We were encouraged, fed, and taught. A small warning: the workshop lasts for more than two hours, so plan more time for it.
